Welcome to the Alfa Romeo Owners
Club!
This is the official Web site of the Capital
Chapter, Alfa Romeo Owners Club of America. The Chapter
is one of the largest and most active in the United States
and includes Alfisti (Alfa Romeo enthusiasts) from the greater
Washington, D.C. region including D.C., Maryland and a large
area of Virginia. The chapter holds regular dinner meetings,
sponsors an exciting series of road rallies, tech sessions,
weekend drives and other events and publishes a newsletter
complete with a "Classified" section listing Alfa Romeo
cars and parts for sale.

SPOTLIGHT ON...
Alfa 8C2900B MM at the Simeone Museum
Over
the next several months I will write short articles (tech-spec)
for the Capital Chapter newsletter about some of the famous
race cars of the Simeone collection. I will show pictures
I took of many of the mechanical attributes of these cars
and try to point out some of the features that made them
outstanding racing cars. The first car up is the “crème
de la crème” of Alfa Romeo race cars, the 1938 8C2900B MM
serial # 412031 which won the 1938 Mille Miglia. I will
be discussing some of the technical attributes of the car
and what made it so successful. We will be looking at details
of the suspension and chassis and showing pictures of areas
of the car that are not normally seen. I hope you enjoy
these “tech-specs” as much as I have in researching the
specifics and showing pictures and admiring the technical
solutions that were employed during these early days of
racing. The full article can be linked from the
Articles tab in the menu.
