This is the official Web site of the Capital Chapter,
Alfa Romeo Owners Club of America. The Chapter is one of
the largest and most active in the United States and includes
Alfisti (Alfa Romeo enthusiasts) from the greater Washington,
D.C. region including D.C., Maryland and a large area of
Virginia. The chapter holds regular dinner meetings, sponsors
an exciting series of road rallies, tech sessions, weekend
drives and other events and publishes a newsletter complete
with a "Classified" section listing Alfa Romeo cars and
parts for sale.

Alfa's Twin Cam: One of the Greatest
Engines of All Time!
Open the hood of most Alfa Romeos from the late 50’s to
early 90’s 1993 and you will gaze at one of the great and
enduring engines of all time. Powering everything from 50’s
Giulias to 1993 series 4
spiders, this twin-cam all-alloy engine is a testament to
the genius of its designers, led by Dr. Orazio Satta Puliga.
Variants range from 1.3 to 2 lltres and include carbureted,
and mechanical and electronic fuel injection versions. This
handsome 4 cylinder, with hemispherical combustion chambers
and massive sump produced up to 200 hp+ in race configurations.
With a wonderful sound and willingness to continue revving
long after its contemporaries have given up, it is little
wonder that its production spanned 40 years. These high
performance engines stir the soul and bring smiles to those
able to experience its responsiveness. This alone is reason
to possess an Alfa Romeo.
